What a fantastic week it has been at school!

We were incredibly proud to listen to the Head Prefect speeches this week. A huge well done to all the children who put themselves forward and spoke so confidently in front of the school. The standard was exceptionally high, making it a very difficult decision. Voting will take place this week, and we look forward to announcing our new Head Prefects for September very soon.

Our annual Sports Day was a great success. With the sun shining, EYFS and KS1 enjoyed their events in the morning, followed by KS2 in the afternoon. It was wonderful to see such excellent examples of sportsmanship, encouragement and teamwork throughout the day. Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us and helped make the event so special.

On Wednesday, our Year 6 pupils enjoyed their Circuits day. It was certainly hot and sweaty, but there was plenty of enthusiasm, determination and fun, and a great time was had by all!

Year 6 who will be going to Park in September have spent time there for their transition days, helping them prepare for the exciting next stage of their education. In addition, they will be working with members of Holy Trinity Church, as well as those year 6 pupils moving to other Secondary schools, as part of the 'Make Your Move' transition project, providing further support and guidance as they get ready for the move to secondary school.

School Meals – Price Update
We would like to inform parents that, after careful consideration, the cost of school meals will increase from 1st September 2026. The new price will be £2.70 per meal.

As we enter the last full week of term, there is still much to look forward to, including opportunities for children to meet their new teachers ahead of the new academic year.

We are looking forward to another busy and successful week together as we begin to round off a wonderful year.

Warm regards,

The School Team

Collective Worship this week...

This week in Collective Worship, we explored how forgiveness helps us develop soft hearts that are full of love and kindness. Using a small stone as our stimulus, we thought about how a heart can become “hard” when we hold onto anger or grudges. God teaches us to love others, forgive from the heart, and treat people with compassion.

Through Leviticus 19:17–18, Matthew 18:35, and Proverbs 4:20–23, we learned that forgiveness benefits both the person forgiving and the person being forgiven. Although forgiving is not always easy, it helps restore relationships and brings peace.

Talk Together
  • Is it easy to forgive?
  • Who has forgiven you?
  • How does forgiveness help both people?
Reflect

Is my heart soft or hard today? Have you been carrying something heavy?

Try This Week

When someone makes a mistake, practise showing patience and forgiveness. Look for opportunities to offer a second chance and spread kindness.

STARS THIS WEEK

Here are the children who have been shining by showing our church value of FORGIVENESS this week ...

Forgiveness

Love prospers when

fault is forgiven but

dwelling on it separates

close friends

Ash 2: NEVA

Neva has shown great resilience and maturity when plans have changed unexpectedly. She has approached these moments with a positive attitude and has helped her friends understand that while we can't always control what happens, we can choose how we respond. Well done, Neva. We are very proud of you!

Rayner: ROONEY

I would like to give my star to Rooney for living out our value of forgiveness. He shows great maturity in his learning, makes exciting connections across the curriculum, and treats others with kindness and compassion. Rooney's understanding and caring attitude towards his friends make him an excellent example of forgiveness in action.

Percival: WILLOW

Willow is our star this week because she is always very respectful and forgiving towards her friends. Willow shows compassion in tricky situations which makes her a fantastic friend to have.

Duffy: KARTER

Karter can often become frustrated with himself and others around him. Recently he has been communicating his feelings and understanding of situations to staff in a calm and reasoned way. Well done Karter!

Farook: BEAU and ABIGAIL

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Beau's friendships continue to blossom this term. You have shown some wonderful qualities of friendship.

Abigail, you are always such a patient friend and your compassion and forgiveness shines through!

Evans: DAVE

This week our star is Dave. Dave deserves recognition for his ability to let anything that has happened go and move forward positively. Well done Dave.

Shakespeare: PAIGE

Paige is my star this week. She is an incredible person and has really overcome some challenges this week. She has turned it all around and is trying her best. This time of year can be hard for year 6 with transitions etc, but she is handling it well and making us all proud!
