Learning to Love; Loving to Learn - Life in all its Fullness

    Dear Parents and Carers

There has been a wonderful buzz around school this week, with children across all year groups embracing new experiences, developing new skills and making lasting memories.
Our Early Years children have been busy exploring different tastes and discovering whether foods are sour or sweet. There have been lots of curious faces, thoughtful discussions and a few surprised reactions along the way! We have captured some of the fun in photographs, so please do take a look at the Ash 2 page on our website.
On Wednesday, Year 3 represented our school brilliantly at the Multi Skills Festival at Pilton Community College. The children showed great enthusiasm, determination and teamwork as they practised a range of sporting skills. It was fantastic to see them having a go at activities that were new to many of them, including hockey and tag rugby. They were a real credit to the school and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Our Year 5 and 6 children have also had a fantastic end to the week taking part in the Bikeability programme. Enjoying some welcome autumn sunshine, they developed their cycling confidence, road awareness and safe riding skills. It has been wonderful to watch them challenge themselves, support one another and grow in confidence over the two days.

Finally, the children's festive artwork has now been sent off as part of our My Child's Art project. Leaflets were sent home today containing your child's unique ordering code. If you would like to purchase Christmas cards, gifts or keepsakes featuring your child's artwork, please visit their website and order online using the code provided. These make lovely personalised gifts for family and friends.

Across the school, it has been lovely to see so many children embracing opportunities, showing resilience and enjoying learning both inside and outside the classroom. They continue to demonstrate what it means to be "Living Life in all its Fullness", and we are incredibly proud of them all.

    Warm regards,

    The School Team

    • COLLECTIVE WORSHIP

Here is what we've been learning about this week in Collective Worship ...

This week, the children explored equality, inclusion and fairness through the stories of Emma and Florence. They discussed the barriers some children face in accessing education and reflected on how schools and communities can ensure everyone feels valued, supported and included.

We also learned about Edukid's Inclusive Education Programme, which helps children with disabilities and additional needs access education, build friendships and achieve their potential.

Through thoughtful discussion, the children considered our Big Question:

      "Equal or unequal?"

      Talk together

Why is it important that every child can go to school?
How can we help others feel included and valued?

Reflect

Think about a time when someone helped you feel included. How did it make you feel?

Try this week

Look for opportunities to include others, show kindness and celebrate differences. Small actions can make a big difference.

  • STARS THIS WEEK

Here are the children who have been shining by showing our church value of RESPECT this week ...

Respect

Show respect to everyone,

love other believers, and

honour authority

Carle: DARCIE

After being poorly last week and having the week off Darcie has come back to school with an incredible
attitude towards learning and her peers. She has been sharing with others and helping them
when needed. Darcie has been completing all of her work to an amazing standard and has
pushed herself out of her comfort zone multiple times which have all ended in her having a lovely time with us.

Ash 2: OSCAR

Congratulations to our Star of the Week, Oscar!
He consistently demonstrates our school value of respect through his excellent manners,
kindness towards others, and positive attitude. He always tries his best
to follow our school rules and expectations, setting a wonderful example for his friends.
Thank you, Oscar.

Rayner: ALDAN

Aldan has been a fantastic role model for respect this week.
He has shown a positive attitude during learning time, approaching every task with
enthusiasm and a smile. Aldan has also demonstrated excellent manners in the dinner hall,
treating both adults and friends with kindness and respect.
Well done, Aldan, on being such a wonderful example to others!

Jha: HUGO

Hugo is always polite, focused on the teacher, following instructions to the best of
his ability and a pleasure to have in class.

Duffy: KAYSON and CONRAN

They are always showing respect to all staff and peers.
They both listen well and follow instructions.
Keep on smiling boys!

Farook: ANELIYA, SHARON and LOUIE

Aneliya, you care so much about your education and it shows in everything you do - what amazing
things you will achieve!

Sharon, it has been amazing to see you how you have built on your learning from last year and continued
to challenge yourself whilst also being a wonderful role model. You are both pieces of the puzzle that
help make Farook show such good learning behaviours.

Louie, you have been working so hard to become the best learner. We know it isn't
always easy but you have been so determined and I am so proud of how far you've already
come and how far you will go.

Evans: BENJAMIN

Benjamin is my star this week, he has been focussing really hard on his
independence this term and it is paying off.
Well done Benjamin!
!

Shakespeare: BLOSSOM

Blossom is absolutely incredible! She has started year 6 in the best way,
even increasing her reading age by 3 years in the last 5 weeks!
She takes her book outside to lunch everyday and has improved in every subject.
So impressed Blossom!

Prefects: ABI L.

.Abi is our star this week because she always tries her best, she is very confident and shares her ideas.
Her writing is amazing in English.
