October - Farook
WC 28th September 2026

This week started with making Christmas cards - yes, that's right: CHRISTMAS CARDS! Each one has come out unique, the were exploring contrasting colours and thick, bold lines. Information about how to order these will be released shortly. Everyone's turned out a little different - we hope you like them!
On Tuesday, we had the absolute pleasure of laughing our socks off to stories and poems by author Guy Bass! He was so entertaining!
WC 5th October 2026
This week we have been busy focussing on adverbials, whether that's in our sentence work, working on adverbials phrases of manner, time and place, or if we are focussing on adverbials in our spellings and homework.
In Maths, we have been aching our brains with drawing number lines, jumping in multiples of 10s, 100s and 1,000s, and estimating numbers on a number line. WOW! We had to combine lots of skills this week.
We have loved our toothbrushing breaks in the afternoon.
Our first student-led class worship was a hit too.
WC 12th October 2026

We are finally started our final write in our Writing, where we are retelling the story of the First Drawing.
In Maths, we have been rounding to the nearest 1,000 and nearest 100. I have never taught a class that have understood how to do this so quickly! WOW! Mathmagicians!

In PDW, we had fun exploring "Temptation" by spending the lesson facing a delicious, mouth-watering, strawberry sweet that we were told not to eat. How many of us lasted through the challenge do you think?

On Wednesday, I had the privilege to bring the Year 3s to Pilton Community College for their Multi-Skills Festival. We had a really lovely morning!

In Art, we have started our final piece on pointilism.

In English, we have been working hard as we join all the lessons and writing in our final write by retelling the story of the First Drawing. We're not quite finished yet, so we will need to carry this on to next half-term.
In Maths, we have finished our second unit of Place Value and we will be moving onto addition and subtraction after half-term.
Within our PDW work, we have taken on the role of reporter as we wrote about the newspaper story of The Fall. Check out some of these below:
