In order to assess whether your child is progressing well, we use a variety of approaches to track their learning. This includes twice yearly testing and measurement against key criteria. When you look at exercise books, you will be able to see these criteria in the backs of books and see which areas your child is able to do and where there are any gaps. The documents on this page give you our current frameworks for writing and maths, together with the spellings the children need to know across Key Stage 2.


We report to parents twice a year following the testing period, an interim mid year report indicating progress and an end of year report detailing next steps.


Additionally in reading, children complete reading assessments termly which are used to give a band for their reading book. This is part of our Accelerated Reader programme and you can find out more here.
