From 1st October 2017, Devon County Council will only be accepting applications for free school meals via a new online self-service portal which will enable parents to access their free school meal eligibility.  It gives parents and carers a simple, easy-to-use way to apply for free school meals.

Access to the portal can be made here where additional information is also available about this service.  The link to this can also be found on the website in ‘School Information’.

IMPORTANT: The person making the application must be the person holding parental responsibility for the child/ren they are applying for. The school cannot log in to the portal on behalf of parent/carers.  Please speak to the School office for guidance.

Operation Encompass

Like most schools, Ashleigh is taking part in a new project with Devon and Cornwall Police. Operation Encompass reports to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident.

Recently Mrs Fordham has been on the training which allows her to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, ensuring that we are able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have been involved in, or exposed to, a domestic abuse incident.

If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of the safeguarding team.
