H5/6

Well done everyone who stuck to their Lent promise!! We did it!!!

We gave up things like, chocolate, tomato ketchup, playing computer games and take-aways. How good was that first Easter egg after 40 days without chocolate?!

This term, we are learning about North Devon’s Maritime history – ship-building, shipwrecks, smugglers, imports/exports, sea shanties, superstitions on board ship and many more exciting things! The new child centred home learning has been sent home and is linked on our class blog. Everyone has got to draw or paint a nautical symbol for our classroom display by Monday 23rd April.

We have arranged for a day in Appledore in May to visit the Maritime Museum, the Lifeboat Centre and to follow a town trail. Letters will be sent home soon about this.

SATs and QCA assessments will take place during the week beginning 14th May, so please make sure you are in school that week, and for the weeks leading up to it, so that you are well prepared to show your best learning.
